Committees
The development of OFML was only possible by a jointly cooperation of the interior design industry. To further develop the standard a continuous target definition and monitoring is necessary. Responsible for this challenge is the EDP-committee of the bso "Verband Büro-, Sitz- und Objektmöbel e. V.” (Association of Office-, Seating and Object-furniture).
EDP-committee
The EDP-committee is a board of the bso "Verband Büro-, Sitz- und Objektmöbel e. V.”. Next to manufacturers of office furniture, are users of the interior design specialized trade and software manufacturers involved.
The duties and responsibilities of the committee are the further development of the data format and its application areas. The following listed duties and responsibilities have been and will be performed by the EDP-committee:
- Composition of a uniform data format to visualize interior designs (graphical part of OFML-format)
- Composition of a uniform data format for commercial processing (commercial part of OFML-format, OCD - OFML Commercial Data)
- Composition of a uniform order-data exchange format (OEX-OFML Business Exchange Data)
- Development of an internet data-portal to transfer data between manufacturers and dealers online
- Definition of a format to exchange order-data between manufacturers and dealers
- Development attendance of the office space software "OFML-Planner"
- Projects in the field of e-business and e-procurement, catalogue descriptions and electronic order-data exchange
Standardization committee
A sub-board of the EDP-committee is the standardization committee. By that board recommendations for the data creation are developed, which allow for a continuous further development and compatibility of OFML-data.
Currently recommendations for the structure of article descriptions are developed by that committee.
